Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

A Vampire hangs in between worlds, not dead but not truly alive and Alithmir hates it. His mind works just as well as any other dragon's, but his body prevents him from enjoying the world of the living as he so truly desires. Only the shells of dying eggs will ever touch his lips. Only the chill of death will ever gather under his wings. Only the reek of decay will ever lurk around him.

Yet his heart still beats, however infrequently, a reminder when the misery is too much to bear of the life that is still inside of him. And he is determined to find it. Somewhere out there, local legend says, is a potion that can breathe life into the limbs of the undead. Alithmir has spent decade upon decade searching for it, all in vain. But even after all of the failures he has faced he refuses to let it get in his way. Maybe there is a cure, maybe not. But for now there is some life. Enough to keep him strong.
