Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shu the Gentle is the only child of Chernobog and Little Dark Lov. Besides her looks she is the only Black Dragon in the Wolfs Howl Clan that does not like to fight. Chernobog has taken pity on his daughter and has allowed her the right to pick the next leader of the Black Dragons, rather than force her to become one of them. Since then Shu has looked for a mate to become the leader but has yet to find one, something that has sadden her greatly. This, however, does not stop her from playing with every dragon in the Clan. Most of the Black Dragons frown upon this since most of them hang with their own kind, but they say nothing to stop her knowing of her sadness.
