Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

A bit tall and with rather large sails, Geckoli is a fairly large dorsal dragon. As a pastime, he swims about the coral reefs snatching small fish to eat as he does so. Geckoli has a fairly solitary history yet, resently he has met a very wonderful red dragon who is in a circus. She visits him in his lair after her performance. Although he is graceful in the water, he lacks the ability to fly without falling a few times. His lair is submerged underwater and hidden by seaweed to keep out the deep water dragons, they give him the creeps. most dragons may think this is silly since they do not venture as close to shore as Geckoli's lair is but Geckoli either doesn't know or doesn't care. Full moons relax him although the light at sunset and sunrise hurts his sensitive eyes with the strange colored light it produces and the long shadows it casts.
