Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kuro no rei, Black Spirit, is the adopted daughter of Kurai Seishin. Her egg was found outside of Kurai Seishin's nest. Kurai Seishin had been waiting for a Black dragon heir to her post. She raised Kuro no rei like her own, but that didn't stop the 'rebellious' attitude that came with Kuro no rei's teen years. She was always trying to 'break free from the cage her mother put her in.' Which in a way, was exaggerating. She's always running off with her friends, who call her just Kuro or Rei, and skipping her magic lessons. She always acts disrespectful towards her mother. Kurai Seishin hopes that she will mature, and doesn't run away forever. Kuro no rei is learning necromancy, like her mother, and is secretly learning pyromancy.
