Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Melissa, despite being on the younger side, is the resident mother dragon of Damian's cave. She is fiercely protective and loving, going so far as to call the eggs which Damian steals her own children. She spends her time sitting outside the cave entrance near the immobile Nocturne Herodotus, guarding the cave from attackers and curious animals. The Magi-element magic she possesses creates a strange, charged feeling in the air around her, which increases as her emotions grow stronger. She and Theodotus, the patriarch Candelabra, share a strong bond as the pseudo-parents of the cave, but this has not resulted in any mating attempts by either party.
