Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

NightMisfit is a Misfit Pygmy Dragon hatchling. He is mischievous and loves pulling pranks, just like all of his kind. He really likes to play tricks on other hatchlings, because they usually laugh instead of yelling at him, like adult dragons tend to do. NightMisfit has a great sense of humor, and also loves telling jokes psychically. He has left many dragons and humans in stitches from all of their laughter.
