Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As with any creature there are those who excel at their born abilities, and those who do not. Zu'zezinu was a creature like no other, and certainly not typical of her breed. She'd spend long days away from the nest, and out at sea.  She loathed flight, instead she preferred to wave surf, a true Thuvved.  While out surfing one evening she was grabbed by one of her tail fins and pulled down into the water. Panic ensued the dragon as she took snout fulls of water, choking on the salty sea water. Within seconds the drake that had pulled her down covered her mouth with his and cast a spell, giving her the ability to breathe in the water. He gave a witty smile to her, followed by a devious grin. Rising back to the surface she gasped for air and took off, the thought of the sea dragon in the back of her head. Every full moon she would return to the gentle shore where she met Gentle Wash, and they would try for an egg, a new breed that has yet to be seen: a dragon of air and water.
