Two-Finned Blunas are a very social breed of dragon, living in packs of dragons called “pods.” Blunas are very curious and playful creatures and several dragons in a pod will often “play” with one other, chasing each other around, tossing seaweed back and forth, and riding ocean swells. They are occasionally seen swimming alongside whales and dolphins.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Syrenne is the matriarch of her bluna pod, only yielding to the word of her mate, the patriarch. Together, the two ensure there is order among the members of the pod. They have the challenge of maintaining safety without being overbearing on the others. Syrenne and her mate must make sure no one becomes lost during migration, especially the adventurous and headstrong youngsters. They also lead the others when attacking schools of fish, blowing bubbles around large groups to scare them into a tight mass. Each bluna takes turns maintaining the bubble "cage" while others feed, and Syrenne always sees to it that some fish escape so that the population may recover by their next visit.
