Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It likes to perch on the high branches of the taller trees and look longingly up at the sky.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

A calm, content little dragon, this one spends most of her time lounging about in the sun with a glass of crisp lemonade. She shows no inclination to go winging through the forest or practice her hunting skills. But despite this, she's a highly successful little creature, for she's mastered the art of economics; no one knows as well as her what are the best places and times to sell a refreshingly cold glass of lemonade, and her marketing skills are brilliant. Accordingly, the peaceful beastie sleeps on a pile of gold at night, and has more than enough finances to hire cooks and waiters to attend to her needs.
