Some of its magma has hardened, maybe this means something?
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.
Just like her mother, Steamchaser is very fond of, well, steam. Nothing delights her more than leaping into a vat of cold water and seeing all the lovely water vapor go billowing up overhead. Steam isn't the only thing she loves, however; she also loves her mommy and, of course, the factory. To her the place is nothing more than a great toy; she'll flit about for hours, getting under her mothers feet, pouncing at steam vents, turning cogs and wheels, racing along conveyor belts, and so on. Most dragons wouldn't consider this a very safe sort of place for their hatchlings to play, but the youngsters mother knows her child is fully aware of her home and can take care of herself. Besides, the factory almost seems to be fond of them as well, and despite the apparent hazards of the place no harm has ever befallen any of its tenants.
