Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Inherently fascinated by nearly anything shiny, Sarete has a special fondness for crystals polished by running water. He sometimes fashions such stones into pendants, using dried bits of flax and palm fibers to make necklaces. Though he is happy to craft accessories for others should they bring him the materials, Sarete very rarely makes gifts. His living area is full of braided plant fibers and different smooth stones; Sarete claims that he never starts making a necklace without first finding a perfect match of pendant and chain.
