Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nessa Nightbreeze is a young black dragon who cares little about her looks and even less about the other gender. Careless and wild, some even believe she would rather have been born a male. It is because of this reason that everybody was convinced that Nessa would never find a mate, as nobody likes a female who tries to be stronger and better then her male partner. Even so, she seemed to have caught the eye of Kvall, a black dragon that lived for the hunt and never showed interest in any woman before. A stranger couple could not be imagined, but they seemed to have developed an unexplainable affection for each other, and given the aggressive nature of both dragons, nobody dares to question their motives.
