Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems to want to go outside whenever there is a storm.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This hatchling is known for the tight acrobatic aerial maneuvers he pulls off in heavy storm winds. His classic move is tumbling head over hind end multiple times, somersaulting through the sky. He has also been observed to perform cartwheels and other flips.

Initially it was thought that he was being thrown about uncontrollably by the wind, but his controlled exits from those moves combined with the number of times he repeats them have shown that he is indeed doing them intentionally.
