Sunrise Dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise Dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Meridiem is the first one up every day, but has been forbidden to wake anyone else up before 7:30 a.m. She's a gentle and supportive dragon and enjoys being a team player, and thus has a way of lightening the mood when someone's feeling upset. However, she's very reserved, and only her best friend Eventide Sunscale the sunset dragon knows more than the bare minimum about her. Meridiem has a crush on New Moon's Angel, the daydream dragon, and has been trying to tell him for a while now, but every time she's near him, she can't remember what she wanted to tell him.
