Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Swift, daring, and competitive—these are just some of the words that could be used to describe Darklyte.  He started out as a normal egg.  Early in his egg development, Darklyte came down with the usually fatal disease of soft shell. I didn't think he would make it. But, sure enough, the little black dragon pulled through, and the sickness had done nothing but make him stronger.  Now, Darklyte enjoys the finer things in life.  His favorite pass time is to race the other dragons, especially Ripclaw and Airyn, in flight, where Darklyte usually wins.  He is popluar with the females, even shy Fylyn. Despite his rough begginings, Darklyte has grown up to be a heathly, happy adult dragon.
