Pink Dragons are primarily herbivores and only eat meat during the mating season, when mates will exchange kills. When it is not breeding season, pink dragons spend most of their time incubating eggs and caring for their clan’s young. Due to their feminine color, it was traditionally thought that pink dragons were a strictly female breed, but this is not true.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Itura, along with her only mate, Iturar, helps the other dragons she shares the cave with to find their lifelong mates by influencing the gender of eggs, especially if their species is rare and it's far more difficult to find a lifelong mate of the same species. Since Itura is only able to make the dragon a female, she can offer her help to the males only, while her spouse helps the females in the same manner.

They both know the blessings of having a Draffective relationship from their own experience, and understand how important and beautiful it is to have this particular individual to spend their lives with, both as best friends and lovers at once.

Other dragons in the cave treat this couple with well earned respect for what they do, for their community as a whole. They all happily follow the path Itura and Iturar show them every day with their perfect relationship.
