Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Blizzard Dancer of the Yule has never been seen by human eyes.  She is nothing but a solid and well-preserved myth to them; tales of explorers and mountaineers lost and dying, only to be led by a gilded glow and the tinkling of small bells through the snowstorms to shelter and safety, are many and profound.

Blizzard is known amongst dragons, however, and occasionally can be spied along the fringes of Preto Osso's territory during the winter months, singing cheerful songs and telling the young dragons, if they meet her, tales of grand festivities and feasts.  The only creatures alive that communicate with her regularly are any Yulebucks in the area (as they certainly know the secrets of winter wandering as well) and her mate, The 86th.  It's generally accepted that an even more rarely seen Christmas Spirit, Cloudsinger of the Yule, is her sister.
