Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Anacrophobia has a fear of being displaced from his own time—not a common concern for most dragons, but a natural one for an overly imaginative and rather highly-strung dragon who has spent too much time around Thornpaw and her companions.  The thought that he, too, could be taken away in the blink of an eye from everything he'd ever known haunts his dreams, causing him no end of nightmares, and no amount of reassurance from Hannahra can dispel his worry.  In preparation for his worst fear coming true, Anacrophobia has made sure to tell his life story to as many others as possible, so that some proof of his existence will remain behind even if he himself vanishes.
