Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It spends its time pouncing on insects.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing. It is also now covered in brightly colored stripes.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Hatched and frozen on friday the thirteenth, Darkling-or luck was raised by Lucifera Angella, the satanic angel. He  insisted his master freeze him before he grew large and loud so that he can hide in the shadows more easily. His master had raised him as the first of a group of abandoned wyrmlings to grow into rogue dragons, saving lives during the dark of night unseen. Lucifera plans on doing that to repay for the lives that have been lost at his claws due to his frenzy for human blood. A strong relationship they share yet he seldom or never mentions him. Stealth is his strength and he visits Lucifera rarely since he is bound to a solitary life, saving the lives of others unseen, seeking no reward.
