Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
One day, Flyria woke to a couple of hatchlings nudging her, telling her that there was a monster in the cave. She assumed that imagined it and told them to go back to sleep. But the next night, they insisted that there was something there. So she grabbed Herteth and they set off. A while later they stopped; breathing was coming from down the cave. They called out, and a milky white dragon stepped into the light of the lantern. She said her name was Albegra, and she had been living in the dark of the cave for centuries, eating fish from underground pools. Flyria and Herteth told her of the disturbances, and she confessed to watching the dragons sleep when she had discovered them there only a few nights ago. She hadn't known that other dragons were there until then. After some grumbling, she ambled off into the cave. Flyria and Herteth went back to tell everyone what they had found. The disturbances stopped. But sometimes, if you wander back too far, you can hear breathing...
