Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It is so full of energy that you have a hard time keeping up with it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

As quick as her mother and with none of the clumsiness she has proved her grandfather's theory that her mothers sight issues could be bred out. Unfortunately her speed was not enough to save this little hatchling.

She'd taken an interest in Cheese All The Things' goat herd and followed him around the grazing areas. Eventually the cheese took her under his wing despite her family being banished from living in the upper cave. One day she was managing a small part of the herd when she was attacked from above by another dragon. Scared and barely making it out of the steppe with her life she was rescued by her mentor and taken to the whites for emergency healing.

She spends her days now with a small heard of cows, a gift from her mentor who comes down to teach her how to make cheese. He's the only dragon who regularly goes back and forth between the main cave and the lower cave for more than just food runs.
