Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Jakyl's egg was found stone cold and foul-smelling on the nest floor one morning, drastically altered from the egg it had been before. When the white dragons failed to heal it, the dragons decided to throw it from the cave, uneasy around the strange aura that seemed to emanate from the egg. It was only when a whispery voice filtered through their minds demanding their compliance that Jakyl was allowed to be raised, separate from the rest of the eggs and hatchlings, in the deepest reaches of the cave. When she emerged from the darkest tunnel, a grim white phantom with an insatiable appetite for blood, only the foreboding presence of her sire Kaishi at her side kept the other dragons from turning on her. Two Guardian dragons are posted at the tunnel entrance at all times, to watch for her when she emerges, and to guard the eggs from her bite. Sometimes... they are not successful.
