Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Guargier enjoys the fresh wind on a breezy day, but dislikes the fierceness of the Dark Dragons. Guargier thinks that the wind feels like it will blow him away, and may get distracted by the wind, forgetting his guard duty. His favorite thing to do is to just close his eyes, and let the wind blow gently on his tough scales. The reason for his distaste in Dark Dragons is because of a traumatizing event in his youth. Half of his hometown was slaughtered by a small group of merciless Dark Dragons. He still remembers the heat of their breath, and the pain of their piercing claws. He was taken in and raised by a small clan of dragons in the Southern Lands. His only wishes are to protect the kind ones who took him in, and to keep his rage at the Dark Dragon race concealed. Guargier is usually a hermit when it comes to his social life, but constantly keeps the young ones entertained by juggling egg shells on his tail.
