As the nocturnal relative to Sunbeam Drakes, Moonglow Drakes are a secretive breed most active under the light of the moons and stars. They are wary of others, but are known to have incredible loyalty should their trust be won. Catching sight of Moonglow Drakes as they dance amid the moonlight is seen as a favorable omen by those they live near, and tamed individuals are common. They are slightly smaller than their cousins, averaging around the size of a cat.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Tetha lives in an old barn at the edge of a human settlement, where many diurnal Glory Drakes live peacefully among the humans. Tetha, on account of his nocturnal schedule and drab coloring, keeps to himself, nesting in the barn's loft and emerging during the night to catch insects. Unknowingly, he also assists the humans in their Drake-domesticating endeavors, keeping the nighttime pests at bay and giving the Day Glory Drakes some help in their task of keeping the crops insect-free. Tetha doesn't know that, but he also wouldn't particularly care if he did. The old barn loft is warm, and his life is easy. Perhaps one day he'll attempt to court one of the other night-loving Drakes and start a family...
