Hellfire Wyverns are so named for their foul tempers and fiery visages. Their social structure places all females above all males, due to superior physical characteristics and violent dispositions. Forced subservience of the males causes them to become vicious, petty, antisocial, and passive-aggressive compared to the aggressive and social females. However, orphaned hatchlings raised by foster parents of another species can develop surprisingly even tempers and mellow dispositions, proving that their defining unpleasant nature is, in fact, a learned behavior.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
Valcora is not the most friendly dragon of the pack. She is often brutal and quick to anger. She has a deep love for combat both on the ground and in the air. Yet even with this dark love she remains sly and picks her fights wisely to avoid harm to herself or her family. She often wanders deserts and places with heavy volcanic activity is search of trapped or lost animals to serve as food for her pack. She is one of the higher ranked dragons and a fierce protector of her pack. Yet despite her love of combat and her want to fly alone she is deeply attached to her pack. She would fight to the death to protect any one of the dragons she dwells with and has a strange fondness for the hatchlings. Her mate is Acha and together they often protect the skies above their family.
