Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dreamgiver Skywalker loves to go to the market. All the dragons, foods, shinny gems, and glistening metals, fill his dreams every night. The most fantastic one is when the beautiful Bluna, Sweetums Long-Wing, gracefully flies through the crowd vending their wares over to his stand of enchanted singing pearls. Although the silver merchant has a finer quality stock and the latest tackles in the neighboring stand have a higher success rate than live bait, Sweetums still visits Dreamgiver's temporary tent. She says that she is incredibly interested in something he has to offer, and as if on cue the herb gathering dragons of the forest break out into song. Their bright melody is background as Dreamgiver pulls out a sparkling diamond tiara. He tells her that it is free, as is his love. However, as the scent of smoked fish wafts over to them, she announces that she is only interested in him, not some tiara. Even though his dream only ends there, his life has moved on to marriage and a son.
