Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Otono Se Acaba (Otono for short) is a spunky little Seasonal Dragon. His name means "fall is ending" in Spanish and Otono often boasts about it. Otono is normally found flying through the cool fall breeze with his mate, Fall Morning. Otono loves Fall Morning dearly, especially because she is the only dragon that can pronounce his name correctly and although they just met Otono is confidant that their love will last long. Otono loves summer and fall, but despises winter and spring and often hides away in his own little cave until it is summer again. Otono is very affectionate, and has a good sense of humor. He also loves little hatchlings and sometimes takes them for a ride, but only if Angelo, the guardian, lets him. Often, on warm fall nights you may see the shadows of Otono and Fall Morning sitting together, Fall Morning's head on Otono's shoulder.
