Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Bizonyte is one of the two guards of the Stanca clan. The other guard is Kaiaff, a red Dorsal dragon. Most people think it looks pretty awesome to see these two differently colored and gendered Dorsal dragons stand next to each other in front of the cave that their Clan lives in. Bizonyte thankfully enjoys his job. He and Kaiaff are enemies, and Bizonyte loves having enemies. Bizonyte is always the winner of each argument they have. He can quickly think of clever, hilarious comebacks that would be offensive if they weren't directed towards such a prideful dragon. Kiaff, on the other hand, has laughably stupid retorts such as, "Well you're ugly and you'll never get a mate!" Bizonye is a big prankster, and Kaiaff is a wonderful target for pranks. These dragons fight a lot, and most of their scars are from each other instead of from intruders. Some assume that Bizonyte is a horrible dragon, but he's not. He is very funny and nice to anyone who doesn't annoy him.
