Sweetlings are a small, flightless breed of dragon. They are omnivores who favor sweet fruits and honey, and have been known to go to great lengths to obtain their favorite treats. Their long, prehensile tails allow them to grab onto branches and give them superior balance. Sweetlings are expressive dragons and have a large array of calls to communicate with others. They become very vocal during breeding season and sing long, beautiful melodies to attract a mate. Inquisitive in nature, Sweetlings are known to investigate anything that piques their interest, and are quick to flee if the object of their curiosity strikes back.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

A legend in a nearby human village tells of a tiny pink Sweetling coming to the calls of children donning buttermilk delights. On sunny afternoons, any time of the year, children beg pennies from their parents in order to buy the confectionery from the local baker, before dashing off with empty pockets and full hands to hide the pies in the hopes that they'll catch the fleetest of glimpses of this delicate little creature.

Truth be told, Buttermilk Delight is a very real dragon, and he does indeed have a sweet-tooth for sugary pies. Bounding through grass or snow from the weyr, it takes him many hours to travel such a distance—a mere ten leagues is a great way for such a tiny thing. Popping up every few metres to check for danger, Delight always makes it to the village, perhaps unfairly waiting for the children who selflessly spent their pennies on him to drift away to bed before he selects one of many pies and feasts away.
