Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Pourpre, though having a fancy name, isn't very fancy. He acts more like a bear than a gentleman. When younger, he'd aggressively play fight with the other dragons which caused a fair number of bruises and scrapes, both on his body and others. He never minded. As he grew older, he enjoyed wrestling prey to death instead of just biting it. He has a good relationship with an Electric dragon, Dioskouri o Wise. He often brings Dioskouri food. Pourpre isn't very fond of hatchlings, as they tend to crawl on his fins and he rarely plays with them, because of his brutish strength. On his father's side, Pourpre comes from a very long line of purple Dorsal dragons. This would make him a completely pure-blooded Dorsal, if it wasn't for his mother's side. His mother was a Blusang Lindwurm, with a few Nebula dragons deeper in the roots.
