Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Donghai is a male Gold Tinsel dragon who is very wise. He has come from the far East, as his name is of Chinese origin. By his fellow tribe members he is known as Donghai Jin Tinsel, or simply Donghai Jin. He never gets angry or has a tamper tantrum and he loves the young ones. He spends most of his time in the Nursery telling ancient stories from a time when he was younger. He has a kind and soft voice and heartful infectious laugh. Donghai sine being rather old doesn't like to rush things except if there's a new breed egg or innocent hatchling involved that is.
