When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Laec is a highly odd young blue. He loves scaring the wits out of all other dragons by hiding in some pretty strange places. He's been found found swimming in the hatchlings' mixed solution and one of the youth hasn't been the same since. He was swimming in the latrine once...Heart's Blood still won't talk about that experience.

For a water dragon, Laec is considerably dirty and ill mannered as well. He spends far too much of his time sucking around in the mud, waiting for an opportunity to make yet another victim of his odd pranks. Although most are harmless, his clutch mate Sera has a particular disdain for him. She spends much of her time attempting to cut down the blue, but it's hard to break the spirit of a serene prankster.
