Speckle-Throated Dragons are an active, playful breed. They are easily excited and rarely remain still, spending much of their time in the air. Living in groups of up to sixty dragons, they nest in open plains and at the bases of mountains. Their speckled throats are their most distinctive feature, as well as the loud, echoing call they produce to communicate with one another. Male Speckle-Throats have a small crest on top of their heads, which they can flush with blood to intimidate enemies and attract mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The first impression one might have of Kidoym is that he's a mysterious dragon who doesn't like company. The truth is that he's really just a quiet, solemn male who idolizes his Magma father, Alderboroth. His face naturally looks stern because of the Magma in his bone structure, his stance seems aloof and standoffish, and for a mere Speckle-throat his presence is strangely intimidating, but he's not an antisocial dragon at all. "I'm quiet," he'd tell you, his ember gaze piercing your thoughts through your eyes, "But I'm listening." Then he'd give you a curt nod to continue what you were talking about. He gives his input now and again during the conversation, but he often won't tell you anything you don't ask about. While most Speckle-throats are more physically playful, Kidoym expresses the blood of his breed with mind games such as Chess, perhaps because he's always been a bit of an outcast to other Speckles. When not with his dad, you can find him home with the rest of his family.
