Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Itch is a playful dragon that is often seen hanging around with other hatchlings. He can be a bit of an attention seeker, and when alone, he is known to emit an extremely loud and high-pitched screeching sound when he wants someone to play with. Strangely, Itch can occasionally be seen looking at another Black Dragon, named Yonder, from afar. Yonder doesn't get along with other dragons, and often talks to himself when he feels others aren't around. Some wonder if Itch has seen something in him that others haven't, and desires to be his first friend.
