Far and away one of the most enigmatic of dragon breeds, the Sinomorph is shrouded in near-complete mystery. While the exact conditions that herald its arrival are not certain, it is said to only appear when called upon by all six Zyumorphs. Record of its existence may be limited to folklore and ancient legends, but recent sightings seem to suggest this storybook behemoth may truly walk the lands of Valkemare. If the stories of the past are to be trusted, its appearance serves as a beacon of light in the face of looming calamity.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Thought to be the consort of The Elder Serpent, or perhaps her twin brother, or maybe even her son, this immense and rarely-seen beast doesn't actually have a single name that anyone can agree on. Most commonly, he is referred to as 'the Altitonant', but that's more of a title than a name; another common term for him is 'He Who Thunders From On High' and that's essentially the same name said in a longer way. If he interacted with other dragons more often, more would be known about him. But as it is, like his mate (or sister, or mother, or ... ), the elusive old beast is the subject of countless legends, myths, rumors, and tall tales. All that is known about him for certain are that he exists, and that every now and then, he appears... especially to females. He is also strongly associated with death, and endings; when he is sighted by a dragon he hasn't purposely appeared to for courtship, it is almost always at the end of the year, or other times with a death-and-rebirth resonance.
