Spitfires are a desert breed of dragon. Their dull brown bodies contrast with their brilliant turquoise markings, and they only blaze brighter when these dragons fight. Spitfires are notorious for their territorial natures, and the wing-edges of most are ripped and tattered before their first year is out. Spitfires are also noteworthy for their brilliant blue fire, which is used not for hunting or fighting, but rather for making glass caves from the sand, in which the dragons can soak up the sun.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This dragon, who usually prefers to go by just Max, is the leader of The Flock, a group of six young dragons who escaped from the mad, evil wizards who had been experimenting on them. They aren't actually related to one another, except that the youngest two are true siblings, but they're the closest thing to a family any of them have. As a result of the experimental spells, potions, and such, each one has a rather unique ability, and Max's is that she can fly at faster speeds than most others, and each of the six heals at a much quicker rate than normal. On the outside, she is hostile and aggressive, quick to anger and slow to forgive, but inside she cares deeply for her little family, and will defend them no matter what. It is extremely difficult for anyone outside The Flock to earn her trust, but once it has been earned, one had better not deceive her in any way or they'll be sorry. They wouldn't like her when she's angry.
