Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Verrian has a taste for the finer things in dragon life. Good, flavorful food, rare and exotic items to hoard, and the feel of the setting sun on the tops of his wings and cool air rushing below. When he has his fill of these things he tends to go around in a happy daze, but when he feels deprived, he becomes depressed and sullen. As neither of these makes him very useful, Asha, one of the clan elders, has been tasked with seeing that he has enough to keep him active and no more. When she does her job well, he is one of the best treasure-gatherers of his clan.
