Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kelvek is very strong-minded and opinionated and prone to causing small earthquakes by slamming her tail on the ground to prove a point.  Other dragons are reluctant to disagree with her, for fear of inciting her to cause a larger earthquake.  The one time she got into an argument with another green dragon, the resulting earthquakes toppled trees and caused cave-ins throughout the weyr, and nobody wants a repeat of that incident.
