Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It is rather pale in color and likes to sleep while balancing on one leg.

And look! It has grown wings and a large head crest! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This little dragon loves pink. Pink roses, pink worms, pink dragons--all are equally adored, and those things small or unresisting enough to be carried back to his nest are accordingly moved, the tiny male amassing quite the collection. His mother and long line of pink-hued grandmothers find his behavior adorable, and spoil him accordingly--all while the male dragons in his ancestry grumble about how back in their day pink was a lady dragon thing.
