Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The owner adopted her because she has a Christmas dragon among her ancestors. Other dragons think there must be an April Fool dragon too: she's one of the most active pranksters in the cave. When an egg mysteriously turns into a rock, a random bone appears in a soft piece of meat or a puddle of sticky mud pours itself on a sentinel's head, dragons always expect to see a black shadow not far from the "crime scene".

She had a best friend, Jade Rose, until the Lagmonster attacked and, despite the efforts of the brave Lagmonster team, took away two hatchlings, the magi Lili Mandarine and Jade herself. From that day Kalia kept training to be able to fight the monster and take her revenge, and one morning the owner saw her coming back to the cave, followed by two shocked but unharmed females. Now she and Jade are no longer friends but nearly inseparable twins: other cave dwellers call them "The odd-coloured Split".
