Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The child of a striped mother and frill father, Sigilfire has lived the majority of her life in the desert--and thus has been raised amongst one hardship after another. She never really minded the harsh winds or dry sands, but the bandits who harassed her tribe drove her mad to no end--and so one day she up and vanished. She returned a few years later, apologized to her parents for her absence, and then promptly mauled a gang of attacking bandits with extremely high level magic that she had never shown signs of knowing before. Needless to say, the thieves no longer bother her clan, and she has gained something of hero status. She doesn't lord over this, however, but spends her spare time reading up on magic and visiting other villages to help them with their own robber problems.
