Sunrise Dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise Dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Risal is a very sociable Sunrise Dragon. She loves talking to all the other Dragons, and hates to be without company for more than half an hour. When there is another group of Sunrise Dragons nearby, she will always be the first to greet them, and is usually the first to wave them off. Risal loves basking in the morning sun with her friends, and even if there is barely any sunlight due to cloud cover she will still find a comfortable rock to lie on and wait for the rays of sunlight to pierce the clouds and warm her. Surprisingly, she seems to get on very well with Niyurvan, a Sunset Dragon. They will both play with each other, and Risal has even managed to convince the female Sunset Dragon to come and watch the Sunrise with her by the sea. Risal and Niyurvan share a close bond, and will not hesitate to protect each other from harm.
