Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sunset Star is one of the hatchling mentors of the clan, which means that she teaches the hatchlings about being a dragon in Lord Tigerion's clan, Nyx'ai'nyx. She explains to all the young ones that all dragons of the clan should carry their clan name proudly, because it is a part in defining who the dragon is. As anyone can tell, she believes in that strongly. Due to her being a Sunset dragon, she is uncomfortable around other dragons, and takes the hatchlings with her during the evening to teach them. During the day, she often goes and checks the territory by herself, only taking another with her if Lord Tigerion commands it to happen.
