Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Often mistaken for a statue of a dragon when people visit the Shadows Serpentine herd, StonaSerpentine was stolen from the dragon cave. He refuses the meat that other dragons occasionally offer him, preferring to eat rocks instead. His food of choice is granite, but he also has gemstones every so often as a treat. He seems to consider them as candy. He is named Stona after a certain magic spell used in a far away land that turns people into stone and his last name Serpentine indicates which herd he belongs to.<br/>As he is normally assumed to be a statue by people when he is not eating, he acts as a sentinel for his herd. When something threatens the herd, he makes a call that warns the other dragons.
