Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

Fish 'n Chips is not like normal Cheese dragons. Instead of being named after something sensible (like something associated with cheese), it is named after a type of food in a completely different food group! Because of this Fish 'n Chips is shunned by the other Cheese dragons.
Of course, whenever a hungry, cheese-craving, powerful dragon is attracted by the cheesy smell, Fish 'n Chips's name saves it. For whenever cheese-craving dragons ask what it is, Fish 'n Chips will reply, "Fish 'n Chips." Since the dragon is craving cheese, not fish 'n chips, it will wander away, allowing Fish 'n Chips to avoid being eaten yet again, the sole reason being its non-cheesy name.
