Failed attempts to experiment with magic often result in transforming dragons into these hellish creatures. They are extremely dangerous, and will mindlessly kill any living creature without regard to friend or foe.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

She had always thought she would be alone. While the other dragons of her clan frolicked and wooed mates, she was decidedly uninterested in having a clutch, snapping at hatchlings and having no tolerance for their clumsy ways.

Then one fine summer's night as she stood guard for the clan, the stars themselves departed the heavens before her. A Nebula dragon, originally intending to hunt, instead spent the evening with a smitten Bright Breasted wyvern.

It wasn't long before she delivered a single egg that she promptly tried to abandon, only to find she couldn't. Each day brought her new joy as she watched her egg harden, then crack, then finally emit a tiny green hatching that finished melting her heart.

Just as Thrioa, her hatchling, grew wings, a terrible sickness settled in her chest and  she struggled to fight the consuming disease.

In the end it claimed her, but she refused to leave the side of her daughter. Her body warped and rotting, Mother's love will not abandon Thrioa.
