Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Osamu was wrongly born into a family of purebred Albino dragons. His mother was taken advantage of by a commoner dragon in the Kingdom, and Osamu was born. He doesn't know who his father is, or even what breed of dragon he is, because his father was never spoken of. After he was able to partially take care of himself, Osamu was cast out of the family and never spoken of again. He became incredibly lonely and grief-stricken, eventually becoming a little insane. Because he was partially of royal family lines, he wanted to pass his blood on so that his sickly mother and disgraceful father could live on in his children. He chanced upon Amaterasu's dwelling one day and took advantage of her, fathering two sons, Shin and Kyoki. He left before they could remember him, and vowed to never return. He eventually did, breeding with Amaterasu again before being attacked and chased away by his two sons. He now lives in a polluted forest by himself, without any other dragons.
