Thunder Dragons are the masters of electricity. Their wings gather energy as they soar through the clouds, and when they clap their wings together they can create devastating arcs of lightning. They can stay airborne nearly indefinitely, landing only to sleep and breed; they catch their prey from the air and take moisture from the clouds. A thunder dragon’s roar is considered to be an omen of misfortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Iolitium ThunderStrike (after the gemstone: Iolite) was the 100th dragon to join the clan cave, and emerged from his shell surrounded by a wealth of sweet smelling flowers and pink candied sugar drops. It is rumored that the overexposure to "pretty and pink" hardened his heart and strengthened his will to the thunderous nature that befalls him. He has little time, and even less patience, for the trappings of romance and love, instead finding purpose and meaning in more solid endeavors. He spends every waking moment patrolling the environs that surround the clan cave, and when danger appears, his boom flattens the grass and makes the trees quiver to their very core. It is said that lightening strikes will electrify beyond belief, but it does not compare to the deafening roar of his thunder strike as it crushes across the land with a weight unlike any other. Unmistakable and unchallenged, his fury knows no bounds when the clan cave is at risk, and he enjoys his well earned reputation.
