Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Being one of over five dragons born consecutively, Sil was not the center of attention like many other dragons had been. And he was always at the back of the group, often getting left behind. At first, it was written off as an intelligence thing; for his species is not known for their brains.

Midst so many other hatchlings, his problem went unnoticed for the longest time. See, Sil is deaf. His mind is also scrambled in such a way that he cannot understand speech, nor can he produce it. He communicates, instead, by body language and images.

Many of the other dragons pick on him for this reason, calling him dumb and never taking the time to understand him.

So Sil seeks solitude most often, his only companions being hatchlings. He is known to steal one or two away every so often for company. But he always returns them once they begin to talk, not wanting it to turn on him.

One pygmy hatchling he has done this with came back forcefully. The two seem to be bonding despite Sil's problems...
