Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It glows with some form of arcane energy.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Kay was the first baby boy born to Soras herd. Like Shadow, he too refused to grow up, instead preferring to play and fly through the cave like a cannonball, taking the other hatchlings with him on endless adventures and treasure hunts.

Unlike his rather calm father Mage, Kay has an almost endless energy supply and can be seen buzzing around twenty-four hours a day, never even pretending to rest.
